Hanover Presbyterian Church, founded in 1820, established both Hanover College and the seminary that would become McCormick Seminary in Chicago. Sitting at the center of town, Hanover Pres has served the community of Hanover for 206 years. We are proud to be a More Light congregation who also established our local PFLAG chapter. Through the work of our hands and the prayers of our hearts we ACT, LOVE, and WALK as Hanover Presbyterian Church. As disciples of Jesus, we ACT to secure justice, LOVE others unconditionally with kindness and mercy, and WALK humbly and faithfully with our Creator.
We stand with our immigrant neighbors and request prayers for their safety and well-being. Please pray for our farmers and the upcoming harvest: may it be plentiful! We ask for prayers for our local schools and the well-being of our students and teachers. Our community is still recovering from a spring tornado; please pray for those that still need help wading through the branches. Please pray for the Jefferson Together project being funded by the Lilly Foundation that will make our townsfolk able to access their needs with safe paths and stable housing. And finally, please pray for our members, those in the building and those who are coming still, that they may know they are loved and cherished.
