About Us

What to Expect

We are a financially stable and progressive church in a small rural community situated in view of the Ohio River, about  an hour from Louisville, KY.

Come join us as we act to secure justice, love others unconditionally, and walk humbly and faithfully with our Creator.

Our Beliefs

September 2024
A Prayer with a More Light Church

Eternal God, we praise you for your steadfast love and faithfulness throughout the ages. Your presence sustained generations past, and we trust that you will stay with us on our journey of faith.

As a More Light congregation, help us to receive the gospel of peace that you bring to us today. Tune our hearts and minds to the reminder for all of us that we are loved as children of God.

Loving God, while we have overcome two significant barriers to LGBTQAI+ inclusion in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., many of us are wondering what’s next in the work to move with the hospitality you offer for all God’s beloved children.

Lead us in our belief, that the founding vision of your welcome is toward further recognition of your expansive love for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer persons as created in your image.

Lead us in our belief that LGBTQAI+ people would be fully welcome in the life of the church just like any other sibling in Christ. Keep us in the affirming reminder that we are all God’s children!

As you continue to give us breath to say out loud the words gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender, steady our hearts and minds, not in the traps of either-or but in the gospel truth of both-and.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and all things came into being through him.

Grant that we may live according to your love for us through Jesus Christ, who lives with the Creator in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
