Hanover Presbyterian Church

Rev. Dawn Black has served Hanover Presbyterian Church since 2025. Rev. Black fosters an intellectual and academic approach to religious conversation with a focus on humanity and the profound meaning of loving ALL our neighbors. Ordained on March 3, 2013, Rev. Black has served First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow, NE; First Presbyterian Church, Bloomfield, IN; United Campus Ministries, Terre Haute, IN; and First Presbyterian Church, Sullivan, IN. She has a BS from Northern Kentucky University with a major in Sociology and concentrations in history, women/gender studies, and anthropology. Rev. Black earned a Masters of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a concentration in Christian Education. Rev. Black is married to Rev. Andrew Black since September 25, 1999 and they joyously share three children, Griffin, Gracen, and Zachary. The house would not be complete without their two golden retrievers (Lucy and Willow) and their three cats (Flynn, Buddy, and Chloe). Rev. Black lives a full life and seeks understanding daily for the grace and love of God that is so abundant.

Retired from the City of Carrollton in October 2012, Susie was a Certified Master Municipal Clerk with the State of Kentucky and retired with 27 years.  She also was working toward her International Clerk at time of her retirement.  Upon retirement, the Governor made her a Kentucky Colonel.  She started as the Administrative Assistant in the spring of 2012 at Hanover Presbyterian, taking the bookkeeping over as part of the job in 2021.  She is married to Rev. Frank McGee, has two daughters, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Martha is a new member of Hanover Presbyterian Church. For almost 9 years she managed a large historic cemetery near Pittsburgh and had a career as an editor and graphic designer before that. Martha grew up an only child in Northern Virginia, earned an English Lit degree from Taylor University and an MA in Religion from Trinity Anglican Seminary. Martha moved from NW Pennsylvania to marry David in 2023 and they live in a renovated church in Dupont. Between her and David, they have five adult children, seven grandchildren, and two attention-craving dogs named after literary characters: Jean Louise (aka Scout), a Golden Doodle, and Elizabeth Bennett (aka Lizzie), a Cockapoo.

Teresa has been working for HPC for over 20 years.  Teresa grew up in Hanover, attended Hanover schools, and watched her mom, Polly, clean our church.  Teresa now lives next to her mom and takes care of Polly and HPC.  Teresa has two adult children close by.  You probably will see Teresa (many of you have) at Bob Evans restaurant, where she is a regular.
